Artificial Intelligence: A New Form of ADR?
3 Jun 16:30 - 18:00
ADR was born from a desire to resolve disputes outside the courtroom. Today, we are seeing the first steps of artificial intelligence now moving dispute resolution beyond the room entirely.
From algorithmic contract interpretation to AI-assisted negotiation and outcome prediction, the technology is moving faster than the frameworks designed to govern it. This panel brings together lawyers, arbitrators, legal technologists and members of the judiciary to confront a question that is no longer theoretical: if AI can assess a dispute, weigh the evidence and indicate a likely outcome, is it performing a form of adjudication? And if so, who is accountable for the result?
We will examine what AI can and cannot legitimately do in the resolution of disputes, where the boundaries of human judgment must hold, and whether the legal profession is moving quickly enough to shape the answer before it is shaped for us.
Join us for a Welcome Reception from 4:30pm, with our panel session beginning at 5:30pm. The discussion will be followed by a drinks reception at 6:30pm in the beautiful venue of the IoD, Pall Mall, London.
