The rise of group actions in the UK is a much discussed and topical issue. This session looks to the US - the most long-established group actions jurisdiction – and considers the similarities and differences between the US and UK group action landscapes. It will also outline the latest developments in UK group actions, identify the trends in group actions emerging in the US and discuss which ones we should expect in the UK.

Turning to practicalities, we will look at the steps that businesses operating in or selling to the UK market can take to prepare for emerging group action risks, and, if they do arise, the challenges of and strategies for defending group claims.
