Can We Trust the Machine? Wall-E, Terminator or The Matrix’s Agents: three possible outcomes of AI use in international disputes
3 Jun 14:00 - 15:30
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the practice of arbitration and litigation. From analysing pleadings and reviewing evidence to predicting case outcomes, AI tools are beginning to influence how disputes are assessed, argued and resolved.
This panel explores what that future might look like through three familiar lenses: WALL-E, where AI simply makes lawyers more efficient; The Terminator, where technology begins to replace core human judgment; or The Matrix, where dispute resolution evolves into something entirely different.
Bringing together leading practitioners from across Europe and beyond, the discussion will focus on real-world experience. Panellists will share practical “war stories”, highlight emerging case law and discuss tools such as litigation prediction models.
Rather than focusing on hype, the panel will address the practical questions facing practitioners today: where is AI genuinely improving dispute resolution, where are the risks, and how might it reshape the role of lawyers, arbitrators and experts in the coming years?
