English corporate structures and company disputes: the basics for overseas lawyers, and what the English Courts can do for your clients
3 Jun 09:00 - 10:30
If you are attending LIDW from overseas, and you may advise clients who have dealings with English-incorporated companies, this session is for you!
We will tell you what you need to know about:
· The very basics of English company law - what should your clients know if they want to set up, or invest into, an English company, and what strategies should they adopt?
· How English company law disputes can typically arise, for example between shareholders, or in respect of the directors’ conduct.
· When can the English court help your client, and what remedies can it provide?
· How to advise your clients on mitigating/protecting against dispute risk.
· Cross-border insolvencies, and how insolvency tools can come to your clients’ aid
Our diverse panel comprises litigators, a senior transactional M&A partner, an insolvency practitioner and a leading company barrister. We will give you clear, practical guidance and strategic insight, so that you can help your clients understand the opportunities of the English jurisdiction and navigate the risks.
Registration and venue access will open from 8:30am. The session will commence promptly at 9:00am.
