The Global War for Talent: Balancing Opportunity and Risk in International Employee Competition Disputes
4 Jun 19:00 - 20:30
The war for talent has never been more global. Employers are increasingly international in their ambitions to attract the very best. But they also face growing risks of multi-jurisdictional raids on their own workforces. Employers must therefore be able to balance both the opportunities and dangers posed by this cross-border game of cat-and-mouse
Please join us for a fireside chat chaired by retired Lord Justice of Appeal, The Rt Hon Sir Patrick Elias, at 7pm on 4 June 2026 to explore these (and related) issues in-depth. Our panellists (Susannah Kintish, Laura Penny and Natalie Jones (Mishcon de Reya LLP), David Craig KC (Essex Court Chambers) and Jane McCafferty KC (11KBW)) have all been at the coal face of litigation in this space for many years. The session will follow a case study, examining the fall-out after one company upsets a litigious competitor by poaching a large number of its employees across multiple countries, taking members through the key legal and strategic considerations for a successful attack and defence.
