Tradition and transformation: UAE Civil Code reform, court-assisted arbitration, and comparative approaches
3 Jun 09:00 - 10:30
Recent amendments to the UAE Civil Code, particularly those affecting construction disputes, represent one of the most significant shifts in the region’s litigation landscape in recent years. At the same time, the UAE courts continue to refine the assistance they provide to arbitration and in cross-jurisdictional disputes.
In this joint session, speakers from a leading UAE firm Galadari, global consultancy HKA and London law firm Kingsley Napley will examine how reforms are reshaping construction disputes, the evolving interaction between courts and arbitral tribunals, and key differences in the approach across the two jurisdictions.
The session will offer practical and expert insights for practitioners navigating cross border disputes, particularly involving construction, and for parties operating under contracts spanning the UAE and the UK.
Breakfast will be served from 9.00am, offering an opportunity for networking ahead of the discussion.
