AI, Professional Negligence and the Black Box Problem: When the bubble bursts
4 Jun 16:30 - 18:00
As AI becomes embedded in legal, financial and operational decision making, a new risk landscape is emerging. What happens when something goes wrong, the bubble bursts, and we have to consider what’s inside the black box?
This session explores the professional negligence implications arising from the use and non use of AI, drawing on insights from the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce and real world disputes. The panel will examine the challenges of attributing responsibility, proving causation, and defending decisions made with (or against) AI outputs.
We will also look at the claimant side perspective: what options do clients have when a professional advisor’s reliance on technology — or refusal to use it — causes financial harm?
A timely, high impact discussion for anyone advising clients in an AI enabled world.
The panel will be followed by drinks, nibbles and networking.
