From Trust to Transformation: Strengthening Africa–UK Dispute Resolution Partnerships
4 Jun 11:30 - 13:00
Hosted by Lewis Silkin, in collaboration with Africa Legal and with participation from the UK Ministry of Justice and the The Law Society, this event will bring together African and UK legal practitioners to explore trust and transformation in international dispute resolution.
Focusing on real-world examples, the discussion will examine the growing complexity of cross-border disputes involving African parties, ranging from geopolitical pressures and enforcement challenges to cultural dynamics and shifting investment patterns. It will also highlight the evolving role of African law firms and the importance of stronger collaboration across jurisdictions.
With a practical, solutions-driven approach, the session will consider how governments, institutions, and legal practitioners can work together to strengthen trust, improve outcomes, and evolve dispute resolution frameworks for the future.
