Minds vs. Machines: AI’s Promise and Limits in Mediation

4 Jun 09:00 - 10:30

Cross-border Disputes

Registration for this event will open shortly.

In collaboration with leading mediators, AI governance specialists, and international disputes counsel.

Artificial intelligence is now embedded in dispute preparation, case valuation, and negotiation analytics. But can it mediate?

This session places that question on stage.

A cross-border commercial dispute will be mediated in parallel:

• Track A: An experienced human mediator

• Track B: Five AI-driven mediation models operating on identical inputs

The audience observes how each process handles:

• Emotional signalling

• Confidential caucus information

• Offer framing and risk assessment

• Impasse and face-saving mechanisms

• Power asymmetry

The simulation will surface where AI enhances efficiency — and where it fails to interpret nuance, trust, and relational dynamics.

The debrief will translate observations into practical guidance for mediators, institutions, and users.
