Plus ça change - Recent developments in shareholder disputes: transformation, or a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same?
3 Jun 14:00 - 15:30
It has been an eventful year for shareholder disputes and s994 petitions – importantly we have seen the Shareholder Rule concerning legal professional privilege before the courts and the recent case of Zedra has caused general concern regarding limitation – for shareholder petitions and for wider statutory claims.
Zara McGlone and Albert Sampson from 4 Stone Buildings will be quizzed on the key legal and commercial implications for practitioners – from limitation and standing, to privilege and interim relief.
No s994 discussion can take place without addressing the outcomes, and specifically share valuations. With a buy-out the usual remedy order by the court or as part of a settlement, Matthew McDevitt from BDO will discuss the involvement of forensic experts but also perhaps the most important issue to resolving the dispute – the money.
