The digital media environment continues to present significant legal and practical challenges for individuals and organisations seeking to protect their reputations. Against this backdrop, this session will examine key developments shaping media and reputation management in the UK and internationally, with a particular focus on emerging trends for 2026 and beyond.

The panel will discuss how the SLAPPs regime is being applied in practice, injunctions post the Supreme Court ruling in Abbasi, the impact of the new access to documents pilot and the ways in which journalists are leveraging it, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping reputation management strategies. Adam Cannon, Former Legal Director & Head of Legal at The Sun, will share unique insights and practical tips into crisis management, touching upon real examples and lessons learned during his time as in house counsel at a leading tabloid newspaper.

Drawing on both legal and real‑world experience, speakers will reflect on how traditional media law principles are being tested and transformed, and how lawyers and advisers can respond to reputational risk in fast‑moving, high‑profile disputes.
