Algorithmic Relations: the impact of AI on public scrutiny and risk in litigation and crisis

4 Jun 14:00 - 15:30

Artificial Intelligence

This panel will examine how artificial intelligence is transforming the public profile of contentious legal disputes and crisis situations — and what that means for those managing legal and reputational risk.

As AI accelerates access to information, amplifies scrutiny and reshapes how disputes are reported and analysed, the distinction between legal strategy and public narrative is increasingly blurred.

Bringing together legal, media and communications perspectives with AI expertise, the panel will explore:
• Legal: How AI is influencing the evolution of open justice and transparency, and how legal teams are adapting their advice, analysis and use of technology in response.
• Media: How news organisations are deploying AI to research, generate and frame coverage of disputes and crisis situations — and what this means for the speed, depth and reach of scrutiny.
• Communications: How companies and advisers can harness AI to prepare communications strategies and plans, anticipate stakeholder reaction, stress-test messaging, model adversary behaviour and manage reputational risk in high-profile disputes.

Drawing on real-world experience, the discussion will provide practical insight into how scrutiny of contentious matters is evolving — and how practitioners can prepare for a more transparent, faster-moving and algorithmically amplified external environment.
