AI and the Use of Evidence in Arbitration: Friend or Foe?

4 Jun 14:00 - 15:30

Artificial Intelligence, Commercial Arbitration

AI is not just automating the collection and review of evidence in arbitration– it is redefining what evidence and expertise means. When and how should counsel and experts embrace the efficiency and cost-savings promised by AI to facilitate evidence assessment? What professional obligations must they comply with in leveraging AI tools? And how can they effectively prepare to challenge AI-supported evidence when it is becoming more difficult by the day to distinguish genuine evidence from AI-generated deepfakes?

The session will examine how trust in the arbitral process can be maintained in a time of dizzying technological transformation, and how both lawyers and experts can uphold transparency and integrity while adopting new technologies. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of the frameworks for deploying and testing the reliability of AI tools that are swiftly gaining traction in evidence preparation and expert analysis.
