Navigating Sanctions Risk in Commercial Disputes: key themes in litigation and arbitration
4 Jun 11:30 - 13:00
Sanctions are no longer a niche compliance issue. They now arise routinely across the full spectrum of commercial disputes—from contractual performance and arbitration, through to enforcement, asset recovery and litigation strategy.
This session explores how sanctions arguments are deployed in real‑world disputes, the practical and evidential challenges they create for parties and courts, and how lawyers can navigate an increasingly complex and fast‑moving sanctions landscape. Drawing on recent cases and live disputes, the panel will examine both legal doctrine and on‑the‑ground reality, including how sanctions issues intersect with asset tracing, enforcement risk, and litigation tactics.
