The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) has long been a preferred institution for India-related international arbitrations, offering a neutral and efficient forum for dispute resolution. With the release of the 7th Edition of its Rules, SIAC has introduced a number of key changes, including (i) new procedures such as Streamlined Procedure, Preliminary Determination, and Coordinated Proceedings (ii) possibility of ex parte protective preliminary orders by Emergency Arbitrator (iii) updated appointment provisions and (iv) mechanisms to enhance and promote the overall integrity and efficiency of arbitration proceedings.
This session will examine whether these changes further strengthen SIAC’s appeal for India-related arbitrations and their potential impact on best practices in regional dispute resolution.
