Powering the Future: Emerging Technologies and the Future of Energy Disputes
5 Jun
16:00 - 17:30
The energy market currently faces a number of issues: a combination of increased demand and the need to de-risk the energy supply for both energy transition and energy security purposes, which has led to increased new technologies in both renewable and non-renewable sectors. Energy disputes can arise throughout the lifecycle of energy projects and the types of disputes that arise follow the same patterns across different types of energy assets and technologies, however for newer technologies, and in sectors where regulations are still in their infancy, there can be added challenges. This panel will discuss the different types of energy disputes that can arise throughout the lifecycle of the project, with a particular focus on emerging technologies and the lessons that can be learnt from more traditional fossil fuel projects or “tried-and-tested” renewable projects.
